This is such a stunning and timeless timepiece and one of our most loved models from the entire Oris back catalogue as it is the original Oris Pointer! It is one of Oris's most iconic designs, with later models having a few upgrades over the years, but nothing beats the original 7285 model from the 1970s.
We love the original, gloss black dial which sets off the luminous, Arabic numerals so beautifully. The date is displayed around the edge of the dial and the pointer hand moves to show the current date.
The stainless steel back/chrome front case is in it's original, unpolished condition, and the watch shows very little sign of wear. Inside is a 17 jewel, manual wind, Swiss movement. It's had an internal overhaul by us in our on site workshop and is running strongly.
Oris was founded in 1904 by two men, Paul Cattin and Georges Christian. The name comes from a brook at the Swiss town of Hölstein, in a short span of time they became the largest employer in Hölstein. By 1929, they had a total of six factories. At the end of the 1960s, Oris became one of the largest watch companies in the world, producing approximately 1.2 million timepieces a year.
What we think
