Oris Classic Date 7594 with Black Dial in Stainless Steel on Bracelet Circa 2014
Have a question?
Oris was founded in 1904 by two men, Paul Cattin and Georges Christian. The name comes from a brook at the Swiss town of Hölstein, in a short span of time they became the largest employer in Hölstein. By 1929, they had a total of six factories. At the end of the 1960s, Oris became one of the largest watch companies in the world, producing approximately 1.2 million timepieces a year.
This Oris classic date has a 42mm stainless steel case. Polished and brushed surfaces gently curve to sloping lugs. Its 51mm lug to lug length gives it great wrist presence. A large signed crown on the right side makes adjustment a breeze. The polished bezel protects a flat sapphire crystal. The black dial has an outer minute track with lume pips. An inner section with guilloche detailing, applied steel Arabic numerals at 12, 3 and 9 with batons in between marking the hours. At 6 o’clock a date window. Steel baton hands with lume infill with a fine centre sweeping seconds hand complete the dial. On the reverse an exhibition screw-down case back with sapphire crystal, Inside an Automatic Oris Cal. 733 (Sellita SW-200) 26 Jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. Modified with the Oris red rotor. Fitted on its original 20mm stainless steel bracelet with a signed deployment clasp.
This watch is sold with its original Oris box, but no paperwork is present. The watch comes paired on its original stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp, all links are present. The dial is in its original, untouched condition. The case is in original condition and only shows a few signs of wear, but overall it is very good. The movement does come with the 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.
What we think
Watches like this are just fantastic for daily wear, they are relatively affordable, incredibly well built, looks fantastic, and from a brand with serious history and should demand far more respect. The watch looks great in all situations and on a black leather strap it really does dress it up, also at 42mm it wears super well, even for someone like me who generally prefers smaller watches.
