This Watch

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903 they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group.

Extra Points

This beautiful, original example from 1962 has a wonderful patina to the dial, which changes in different light.
The automatic, Omega caliber 552 sits in the stainless steel, monocoque, front loading case.  Fully signed and with the Seamaster hippocampus on the case back.  Coming in at 34mm, it comes complete with the original Omega buckle and box.

What we think

We always love a watch-related nickname, so it's no surprise that we've snapped up this linen-dialed Seamaster.  We especially love it on a grey suede strap, but the versatility of the ever-changing dial makes this watch suitable with any strap.
