This Watch

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903 they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group.

All Omega Constellations are 'Chronometer Officially Certified' watches, which means that they are tested to the highest possible level.  Omega have called it "the most distinguished-title a watch may carry."  In order to achieve this title, each of the 153 essential components that make up these watches undergo 360-hour accuracy and reliability tests and inspections.

Extra Points

The sharpness of this case shows not only to the superb watchmakers at Omega but also the limited use that this watch has had up until now.  We've left the case original and unpolished and the watch has the original Omega-signed glass.

There are rumours that Gerald Genta designed these Omega Constellation Dog Leg models and we love how angular they are.  We also love the symmetry of the pristine, original, satin-silver, cross hair dial.

What we think

If we are talking about originality and condition then this is the piece to talk about!  It is probably one of the finest examples of one of Omega's finest watches that we have seen in a long time!  We're very excited by this watch and surprised about our willpower to let it go!
