This Watch
We have here an officially certified chronometer piece from the company who invented the affordable Swiss sports bracelet watch of the 1980s -1990s. Everyone wanted a "Tag" and we remember selling them new! The automatic chronometer models were made in small numbers and this watch is in great condition
The clean, Gloss black dial feels very no-nonsense. The famous TAG Heuer logo sits at 12 o'clock and the dial is signed 'Chronometer, Officially Certified, 200 Meters' at 6. The date function is at 3 o'clock. There is a mix of chrome bold Arabic numerals and lumed pips, and an outer minute tracking ring. The dial flows seamlessly into the case and makes for an impressively easy read. Large size bracelet fits up too 7.5 inch wrist
The brushed, stainless steel, screw-back abstract case comes complete with crown guards, for the large signed, screw-down crown, integrated into the case for a seamless, sporty design. The uni-directional bezel has the classic minute tracking, 10 minute interval markings and 12 o'clock pip that can be found on any good dive watch. Inside is the chronometer-tested automatic ETA caliber 2892-2, fully serviced by us and running strongly. The watch comes on its watch on its original and quite unique , wishbone 'link' integrated, flip-lock bracelet. The watch comes with a ta Heuer Box Also . With its instantly recognisable signature S-linked bracelet, the Link (based on the earlier S/EL, or Sports Elegance, of 1987) has long been a flagship of the TAG Heuer brand. Classic and extremely comfortable, the Link is an elegant watch suitable for any situation – sports or dress. Both the Link and its predecessor have been worn by sportsmen and women for decades, its ambassadors including the late, great Ayrton Senna. It truly has a notable heritage and functionality to match. This gentleman’s stainless steel TAG Heuer Link watch has an automatic chronometer, self-winding movement.
Extra Points
Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. The brand has produced many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full. In 1958 Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1962 the first generation of Autavia was launched and has famously been worn in by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti, and many more. In 1999 TAG Heuer accepted a bid from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.
The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
This watch is a true testament to a timeless design and we love how each component flows into the next. The perfect dive-style watch for the vintage watch newbie or seasoned collector. Dated or neo-vintage? You can decide. Large enough for todays needs and unusual enough as a talking point. A rated automatic chronometer under £1k
