This Watch

You can’t get more stylish than this round, 35mm, stainless steel case with cabochon stone crown and stainless steel bezel with a 24 hour scale engraving.  The sapphire crystal protects a clean, silver dial with globe detailing, echoing the lines of the meridian.  Arabic numerals and applied stick batons mark the hours and there is a date window in between the 4/5 o'clock position.  The hour, minute and GMT lumed, blue steel hands, as well as the blue steel, central seconds hand, make for an easy read.  Screw-in case back houses the Cartier Automatic Cal 048.  Fitted on its integrated, stainless steel bracelet with Vendôme lugs and a double folding clasp. 

Extra Points 

Officially released in 1985, the Cartier Pasha is a watch with its own story some 50 years before it was produced for the public.  In the 1930s, the Pasha or Marrakesh, Thami El Glaoui, commissioned Louis Cartier to create a timepiece in gold, but robust enough to keep up with his active lifestyle, including being water resistant.*  This was an uncommon request at the time but Louis Cartier designed a watch with a larger diameter, crown cover and metal grid to protect the dial.  When the Pasha line was launched in 1985, largely due to a demand for luxury waterproof watches, Cartier commissioned Gerald Genta who produced a 38mm case with broad bezel, Vendôme lugs, screw-down crown with the trademark cabochon crown and a retaining chain.  Cartier have gone on to add many other models to their Pasha line, including chronographs, moon phase, perpetual calendar and GMT watches, the latter of which we have for sale here.  The Pasha C, introduced in 1995, is a smaller watch, measuring 35mm, and is paired with the sportier 'H' link bracelet.
