Have a question?
This Watch
We have here a classic watch from TAG Heuer, the 3000 series 932.213 model from the mid to late 1980s.
The grey dial has a mixture of lumed, oval, circle and triangle hour markers and a white outer minute tracking making for an incredibly easy read. The lumed Mercedes hands, complete with sweeping centre seconds only adds to this effortless. The date window sits at 3 o'clock and the recognisable monochrome TAG Heuer logo is at 12 o'clock with '3000, professional, 200 meters' at 6 o'clock. All of this is cleanly presented underneath a sapphire crystal.
The brushed, stainless steel, screw-back case comes complete with crown guards, for the signed, screw-down crown. The uni-directional bezel has the classic minute tracking, 10 minute interval markings and 12 o'clock pip that can be found on any good dive watch.
This 34mm watch sits comfortably on the wrist. Inside is the quartz caliber 185, fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've kept the watch on it's original stainless steel, fliplock bracelet but this watch looks equally as iconic on a strap, too. The watch comes with a TAG service box.
Please note, the bracelet is small, measuring 17cm, but we can fit an extension should one be required.
Extra Points
Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. The brand has produced many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full. In 1958 Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1962 the first generation of Autavia was launched and has famously been worn in by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti, and many more. In 1999 TAG Heuer accepted a bid from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.
The 3000 series was first introduced by Heuer in 1984, and continued into the TAG Heuer partnership, being produced for just over 5 years. In the final year of the series' manufacture, the 3000 name was removed from the dial and the monochrome TAG Heuer logo was changed to the red/green version.
The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
The thousands series are a true testament to a timeless design and are one of TAG's best-selling lines, alongside the F1. The perfect dive-style watch for the vintage watch newbie and can be switched from bracelet to strap at your leisure. To think back in the day owning a TAG watch was a necessity.
