We have here a classic 'Must de' Cartier Ronde with a stunning blue, lapis-coloured dial. There is such a simple elegance to this dial that we are absolutely head over heels for. The value of lapis lazuli is determined by its colour, the highest value being a deep and intense blue with rich, violet tones - and Cartier obviously have the eye for choosing the best of the best! At 12 o'clock, the dial is signed 'Must de Cartier,' with the famous Cartier logo and 'Swiss' at 6. Gilt, sword hour and minute hands sit in the centre to create a sense of symmetry. Finised with the cabochon setting crown, what more could you possibly need?
The vermeil case, also known as silver gilt, or gold-plated sterling silver, measures 30mm and is a very comfortable wear on the wrist for both him and her. We particularly love the articulated, Vendôme lugs which add an extra touch of elegance and sophistication. Inside the case is the Swiss quartz caliber, fully serviced by us and running strongly. This watch comes on a black cartier signed, lizard grain strap and Cartier buckle to dress it up, but great on brown too. The watch also comes with its Cartier box - something that is quite rare for a watch of this age.

The 'Must De' Cartier concept was first introduced around 1973 when the Cartier lighter became the must-have accessory. Cartier branched out from jewellery to pens, leather goods, fragrances and more affordable watches. One of the main ways they transformed their designs way by making them out of vermeil, or silver gilt, which is gold-plated sterling silver. This made the watches more affordable whilst still having the prestige of being made from a precious metal. Various sizes, dial colours and finishes were then produced for both men and women. The Must de Cartier line was faded out at the beginning of the 21st century.
