We have here a classic Cartier Ronde with a rarer original dial variation and Vendôme lugs in vermeil 925 sterling silver gilt from 1987. The watch has all the features of that classic Cartier style but with a rare stunning A mixture of diamond shaped markers & Roman numerals. The more unusual and unique part of this dial is the two gilt circles, like a bullseye. Quite sought after by collectors. The trademark cabochon winding crown, but with a few twists that make this watch the rare thing of beauty that it is! - sword-shaped blue steel hands and cabochon setting crown. We particularly love the articulated, Vendôme lugs which add an extra touch of elegance and sophistication.
The vermeil case, also known as silver gilt, or gold-plated sterling silver, measures 30mm so the larger Gents size originally and is a very comfortable wear on the wrist. The larger size makes it the perfect watch for Ladies today or a Gent with a smaller wrist ( Although i would happily wear it on my 7.5inch - See the wristshot. Inside the case is the Swissquartz caliber 81, fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've paired this watch on a black croco grain leather strap to complement the dial but it looks great on brown too. The watch also comes with its original Cartier buckle , Original Paperwork and previous service history.
The 'Must De' Cartier concept was first introduced around 1973 when the Cartier lighter became the must-have accessory. Cartier branched out from jewellery to pens, leather goods, fragrances and more affordable watches. One of the main ways they transformed their designs way by making them out of vermeil, or silver gilt, which is gold-plated sterling silver. This made the watches more affordable whilst still having the prestige of being made from a precious metal. Various sizes, dial colours and finishes were then produced for both men and women. The Must de Cartier line was faded out at the beginning of the 21st century.

It is a brand that offers timeless elegance across all of its watches, yet never fails to produce a variety of adaptations in its classic designs. This is Cartier doing what Cartier does best: a timeless silhouette, a dial you can’t stop looking at, and small details that feel considered.
