We have here a very special Omega Constellation Buccaneer from 1978, and it is true 1970s design. The rectangular case blends smoothly into the integrated bracelet, and the brushed steel effect really makes this watch stand out from the crowd.
The dial on this Constellation is what really does it for us - a grained, bronze finish in some lights, and an almost black finish in others! It's stunning! The elegant baton markers and clean, straight hour and minute hands make this a classy design from Omega.
Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903 they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group. Louis Brandt, who established the firm in 1848 in La Chax de Fonds. In 1903, the company changed it's name to Omega, becoming the only watch brand in history to have been named after one its own movements. A full-fledged manufacturer of highly accurate, affordable and reliable watches, its sterling reputation enabled them to be chosen as the first watch company to time the Olympic Games beginning in 1932.
The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
Whilst the watch is on a bracelet and is pushed slightly into the sporty category, we think it works great as a dress watch too. Complete with the original box and papers, which is quite rare for a watch this age, this watch is the perfect addition to any collection.
