We have here a sharp and stunning very large retro style vintage Record by Longines This watch is in excellent condition and features a large, rectangular cushion shaped case with a striking blue dial. The Hi Grade automatic movement Automatic Record Cal. 1955-2 (Longines Cal. 505) with fast date change ensures accurate timekeeping, while the new suede blue strap adds a touch of elegance. This Swiss-made timepiece is a testament to the brand's commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

Record was founded in 1903 in Tramelan, Switzerland, as the Record Dreadnought S.A. Producing triangular shaped pocket watches. In 1944, the first watches with hammer automatic movements were introduced, rotor automatics were later introduced in 1952. Record was one of the ‘Dirty Dozen’ watches selected by the British military to make ‘W.W.W.’ watches for their soldiers in WWII; these were delivered in 1945. Longines acquired Record in 1961, buying the majority shares interest. In 1991 Record sadly closed after Longines became part of the Swatch Group.

Slim design and a real dress watch, yet still in the sporty category. Original blue dials are rare to find. You will easily locate restored ones. It is the perfect watch for the vintage watch newbie, a must have for every collector and can be switched from strap to strap at your leisure.
