We have here an exciting Camy Geneve Alarm from the 1970s.  The blue, sector dial has unusual, raised, baton markers with chamfered edges.  The inner minute tracking is in grey segments between the baton markers and add interest to the dial.  At 3 o'clock is the framed date window and the dial is signed 'Camy, Geneve' at 12 o'clock and 'Alarm' at 6.  Thick, steel hour, minute and central seconds hands with lumed tips fit the colour scheme of the dial nicely but we love the pop of the orange alarm hand.

The 37mm, tonneau/barrel-shaped, stainless case is a comfortable wear on the wrist.  At 2 o'clock is the crown to adjust the alarm, and 4 o'clock to adjust the time and date.  Inside is the mechanical manual wind caliber AS 1568, fully serviced by us and running strongly.  We've kept it on its original, integrated, stainless steel bracelet with a signed, folding clasp.

Camy Watch Co. SA was founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1917.  By the 1970s, they were selling mass-market and upscale watches under the Camy, Cronel, Enzo, and Mirexal brands.  Raymond Weil joined Camy Watch S.A. in 1949 where he soon became manager and spent 26 years with them.  In 1976, during the quartz crisis, he was fired by the late owner's son.  Raymond Weil went on to set up his own company and took with him a large number of Camy's employees.  It was only a few months later that Camy Watch S.A. closed.
