We have here a stunning Zenith Sporto Date model 28800 from the 1969-1972. This watch is all original with a gorgeous, champagne-coloured dial. The date function sits in between 4 and 5 o'clock. Chrome baton markers and chrome hour, minute and sweeping central seconds make for an easy read. The dial is signed 'Zenith, 28800' with the Zenith star logo at 12 o'clock and 'Sporto' at 6 o'clock.
The 36mm, stainless steel case holds the mechanical manual wind Zenith in-house caliber 2552C, fully serviced by us and running strongly. We have paired the watch on a vintage new old stock Agon bracelet but it works well on leather too - check out possible strap options in the Gallery HERE
Founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot at 22 in Le Locle Switzerland. In November 1999 they were purchased by LVMH Group joining brands like TAG Heuer and Hublot. They are one of the few brands that continue to manufacture their own in-house movements. Over the years Zenith has won over 2300 awards for precision.
This watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
We love Zenith. They are such an underrated watch house with both their vintage and modern pieces gaining momentum of late. The company that produced the El Primero, Zenith are a real part of watch history and were one of the top Swiss brands of this period! Snap yourself up a bargain while you still can!
