We have here a stunning example of a Zenith Automatic Date 28800, model 1209-3, from the 1960s. This watch is all original with a gorgeous, metallic blue dial. The date function sits in between 4 and 5 o'clock. Chrome baton markers and chrome hour, minute and sweeping central seconds make for an easy read.
The larger, unpolished, 36mm stainless steel case holds the Zenith in-house automatic caliber 2562PC. We have paired the watch on a black leather strap with stitch detailing, but this watch suits many different straps.
Founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot at 22 in Le Locle Switzerland. In November 1999 they were purchased by LVMH Group joining brands like TAG Heuer and Hublot. They are one of the few brands that continue to manufacture their own in-house movements. Over the years Zenith has won over 2300 awards for precision.
This watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
We love Zenith. They are such an underrated watch house with both their vintage and modern pieces gaining momentum of late. The company that produced the El Primero, Zenith are a real part of watch history and were one of the top Swiss brands of this period! Snap yourself up a bargain while you still can!
