1949 Omega Automatic Bumper with Fabulous Original Two Tone Dial Model 2577 in Stainless Steel

£1,495.00 £1,250.00

This Watch

A rather special, vintage Omega wristwatch with a beautiful original two tone dial. Highly attractive dial with mixed Arabic and long arrow baton markers with lume inserts. The dial has a soft, even, patina and therefore no doubt on its originality.  The two-piece, screw-back case is very much in the Seamaster area.  In fact, its reference, 2577, is shared with the Seamaster so we can only assume this piece was an early, pre-Seamaster model or one of the first produced.

Extra Points

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903 they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group.
