This Watch

Here we have a very rare Omega Chronometer, model 2364, dating from 1944.

The subtle, two-tone, brushed silvered dial has mixed applied Arabic numerals and dart indices, gold-tone hour and minute hands, blue-steel sub seconds and outer minute track.  The symmetry of the dial lends an air of understated sophistication.  The dial has been previously and accurately restored to its former glory.

Housed in the 14ct gold, snap-back case is the famous 30T2 RG Regulator movement, which is what made Omega win the Chronometer competitions at Bienne in the 1940s.  The 30T2 is the movement inside their WWW military watches.

The movement has the markings 'OXG' on it.  This is an import code from the USA, which was applied to all imported, American-market watches between 1937 and 1970.
