This Watch

This beautiful, all-original example from 1961 has some patina to the dial, which we like to see.  The dial seems to change colour in different light, which changes in different light and looks stunning.

The automatic, Omega caliber 552 sits in the stainless steel, monocoque, front-loading case.  Fully signed and with the Seamaster hippocampus on the case back.  Coming in at 34mm, it comes complete with the original Omega buckle.
This model of watch is one of the first of the 14### series.  It was produced just before Omega introduced the De Ville range, so the beginnings of the De Ville characteristics can be seen in the design.

Extra Points

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903 they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group.

What we think

A Seamaster is a must have for any collection and this particular example is one of the nicest we've seen in a long time!  It is a great fit for both men and women, and for first-time buyers or the seasoned collector.
