This Watch

Always a big fan of the Jaeger-LeCoultre alarm models and this one is no exception.

They call it a 'Jumboa,' and at 37mm I guess its definitely oversized but sits great on the wrist.  After all, it does have a lot under the bonnet.

For the educated this is a fully mechanical alarm wristwatch. The top crown is used to wind a separate alarm barrel spring. The inner disc is set to the desired alarm time and once this time arrives an internal hammer is released, striking a post and sounding the alarm or buzz/vibration as we know it.

Extra Points

Not only does this watch have all the complications of the alarm, but is also has an extra complication of a self-winding and calendar function.  All housed in an impressive solid 18k case.

What we think

A true masterpiece of mechanical horological workmanship, we've been waiting a long time for a solid 18ct gold bumper version to come our way.  It's a rare and fine collectable piece in great condition.
