This Watch

We have here a classic watch from TAG Heuer, the 2000 series 669.206F model. Now associated with the new term "neo-vintage"

The black dial has a mixture of lumed, oval, circle and square hour markers and a white outer minute tracking making for an incredibly easy read.  The lumed Mercedes hands, complete with sweeping centre seconds only adds to this effortless.  The date window sits at 3 o'clock and the recognisable red and green TAG Heuer logo is at 12 o'clock with 'automatic, 200 meters' at 6 o'clock.  All of this is cleanly presented underneath a sapphire crystal.

The brushed, stainless steel, screw-back case comes complete with crown guards, for the signed, screw-down crown, integrated into the case for a seamless, sporty design.  The uni-directional bezel has the classic minute tracking, 10 minute interval markings and 12 o'clock pip that can be found on any good dive watch.

This is the full-sized version, measuring 38mm, and it sits comfortably on the wrist.  Inside is the automatic ETA 2824-2 caliber with 25 jewels, fully serviced by us and running strongly.  We've kept the watch on it's original stainless steel, fliplock bracelet but this watch looks equally as iconic on a strap, too.

Extra Points

Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland.  Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer.  The brand has produced many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full.  In 1958 Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company.  In 1962 the first generation of Autavia was launched and has famously been worn in by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti, and many more.  In 1999 TAG Heuer accepted a bid from LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A.

The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.

What we think

This watch is a true testament to a timeless design and is now one of TAG's best-selling lines, alongside the F1.  The perfect dive-style watch for the vintage watch newbie and can be switched from bracelet to strap at your leisure. To think back in the day owning a tag watch was a necessity.
