This Watch
A beautiful dress watch by Hamilton Watch Co. with an early micro-rotor automatic caliber unlike the conventional central, full-rotor, which was the more common caliber - making this quite a rare item! This caliber was a collaboration between Buren & Hamilton and was much like the collaboration between them and Heuer. This movement is marked Caliber 666 which is the equivalent to bBuren 1000A. Amazingly, this watch also comes with its original box and is in great condition.
This has a very attractive two-tone, mirror-effect (nicknamed 'Tuxedo') dial that changes with light and angle. The dial is in very good, original condition, with some areas of altered colouration and small amounts of wear, expected with a watch of this age. It is a cream-tone with a silver mirror ring around it. The dial is signed with the Hamilton name at 12 o'clock. The hours are indicated by non-numeric batons in silver.
The hands are silver and are original, fitting the margins of the watch well. The baton hands are incredibly slim and classy, with original lume filling them with a nice orange/brown tone.
The case is in strong condition with only light surface scratches that are consistent with age. There are some deeper marks between the lug at 6 o'clock, where the back is opened to expose the movement. A very nice original case that hasn't been over polished, maintaining the grain on the case back. The plexi-glass crystal is in perfect condition, with no marks, scratches or dents.
