This Watch

This 1930s Rotary Deluxe has a 22mm, stainless steel, tonneau case.  Its faceted-edged lugs with geometric angles curve over your wrist.  A lug to lug length of 39mm and a thickness of just 8mm ensures a comfortable fit.  The brushed surfaces have crisp edges.  A slightly domed crystal sits above an even patina dial.  A minute track is perfectly painted with the hint of radium on the numerals marking the hours and a subsidiary seconds register at 6 o’clock. Stubby, syringe hands have a radium infill.  Quintessentially Art Deco in its appearance, you are whisked back to the great days of prosperity and excitement.  On the reverse, a slightly curved, screwed in case back.  Inside, a manually wound ETA Cal. 765, 17 Jewels, 18,000 Beats per hour.

This watch is sold with its original bakelite Rotary box.  The watch comes paired with a bonklip style bracelet from the same period.

For a watch of this age, we would recommended that it is considered for occasional use, once or twice a week. This is largely because watches of this age weren't built to deal with modern life. They do not have dust proofing, shock absorption and are easily magnetised. Please do try and keep they watch away from magnets such as computers, phones, speakers etc.

Extra Points

Rotary Watches Ltd was established at La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Moise Dreyfuss in 1895. By the 1920s family members, Georges and Sylvain Dreyfuss began importing Rotary watches to Britain to become the company's most successful market.

What we think

If you know me, you know I adore vintage "Tank" style watches and this Rotary ticks all the boxes for me!  It is beautifully sized on the wrist, the dial is original and features all the charm you'd hope for on a watch that's 90+ years old.  Whilst not for everyone, this will certainly make someone very happy, that is what it's all about!
