This Watch

We have here a Rone chronograph wristwatch with a stunning blue dial from the 1970s.  At 12 o'clock, the dial is signed 'Rone' and at 6 o'clock '17 Rubis, Incabloc' along with 'T Swiss Made T' denoting the use of Tritium on the dial.  The gilt baton markers are bevelled, except those at 12 and 6 o'clock, which are lumed.  The subsidiary seconds dial site at 3 o'clock, with a 60-minute recorder at 9 o'clock.  A tachymeter scale is on the very outer ring of the dial.

The watch sits in a gold-plated, screw-back case.  Inside is a manual wind, Valjoux caliber, fully serviced by us and running strongly.  We've paired the watch on a brown leather strap to complement the gorgeous blue dial, but it looks great on blue, black, grey...anything!

Extra Points

Another great Swiss manufacturer, Rone produced watches from the 1920s until the late 1970s, when, like many other smaller watchmakers, they were unable to keep up with the birth of quartz.  In the 1950s, Rone had a store on the Pentonville Road, London, just a stones through from AWC now!

This watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover.

What we think

A great chronograph watch, perfect for the vintage watch newbie or anyone with a love of 1970s design!
