Have a question?
This Watch
Here is a truly special piece of British military history: the Hamilton 6B/9614045 H-67. This watch is famously dubbed the ‘Poor Man’s Mk 11’ due to its striking resemblance to the iconic IWC and Jaeger-LeCoultre Mk 11 navigation watches, and for good reason—it was manufactured according to the exact same stringent Ministry of Defence specifications.
This is arguably the best entry point into serious military collecting. Issued to the British Royal Air Force (RAF) from the mid-60s to mid-70s, this watch is pure, rugged utility. It features the classic 36mm stainless steel case, clean black luminous dial, and unmistakable military design.
Crucially, the H-67 variant is the most sought-after due to its hacking movement, which allows for precise time synchronization—a vital feature for navigation. While it shares its look with the more common H-series, the H-67 is significantly rarer; the military watch community estimates that only around 1,000 pieces were originally produced.
If you are seeking a pure, authentic, and historically important military watch that offers incredible bang for your buck, this is the one to acquire before I reconsider keeping it for myself!
Extra Points
You've got all the classic military features on this watch. Black dial with applied Arabic numerals, tritium luminous markers, Broad Arrow and tritium 'T' on the dial, case back markings, military case and fixed lugs. It is also the rare hacking version of the Hamilton RAF watches.
The Mk 11 Connection: The Mk 11 specification was developed by the British MoD shortly after WWII to create the ultimate navigation watch for pilots. Watches meeting this spec had to withstand extreme temperature changes, high altitudes, and magnetic interference. While the IWC and JLC versions often grab the headlines, this Hamilton was built to the same exacting standards, ensuring incredible resilience and accuracy. This specific 6B/9614045 H-67 reference distinguishes itself on the caseback and includes the all-important hacking function, making it functionally superior to the standard H-variant.
The watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop but we have left it in its original unpolished condition. It comes with our 12 months, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
I personally love the fact that you get all the style, history, and military authenticity of the famous Mk 11 at a fraction of the cost. The rarity of the hacking H-67 makes this a serious collector’s piece that simply doesn't appear often. For the vintage military enthusiast, the combination of the clear caseback markings, the 36mm size, and the honest, utilitarian look makes this watch irresistible. It is pure value for money in the vintage market today. Happy to throw in extra military strap options.
