This Watch
The Centenary is, very excitingly, the first Omega automatic chronometer. It was produced in 1948 with the Centenary text on the case-back to celebrate Omega's 100th anniversary, hence its name. It is understood that the watch line watch first produced in late 1943 . This watch must be one of the first availbe to the public dated via the serial number at 1944 .There were two versions that were made, the 2499, measuring 33mm and the 2500, which we have here, measuring 35mm. Between 6,000 and 8,000 were produced in total, two thirds the 2500 model. The watch was designed by René Bannwart, who also designed the Seamaster. He left Omega in 1955 to establish his own brand, Corum. The Centenary was so successful that in 1952 Omega launched a successive line of watches, the Constellation.

What we think
A rare watch indeed and We don't see many of these watches in circulation. We get very excited when we do! We absolutely love the beautiful design, which seems obvious because we are huge fans of the Constellation! The history and innovation behind this piece makes it indeed special not to mention one of the fist omega automatic chronometer models
