This Watch
We have here a stunning Omega Seamaster 2757 from 1952 and one of the first seamasters with the date function. The Striking original dial is the first thing to hit you on this 1952 Omega Seamaster Calendar (Ref. 2757) and exhibits a striking and "honest" patina that tells the story of over 70 years of life. For a watch of this era—specifically one of the very first automatic calendars Omega produced—this level of aging is highly characteristic and often sought after by collectors for its unique character. The original finish (likely an eggshell or silvered dial) has matured into a deep, warm honey or mustard-yellow hue. This transition is often caused by the aging of the protective nitrocellulose lacquer when exposed to UV light and ambient humidity. It gives the watch a "sun-baked" aesthetic that is far more vibrant than a standard silver dial. The date function sits at 3 o'clock and is outlined with a window. The baton markers are differentiated at 12, 6 and 9 o'clock to help make for an easy read. And even with the aged lume the sword-type, Gilt hour, minute and central seconds hands also contribute to this.
The 34.5mm, stainless steel, clip-on case has the pre & correct non hippocampus back and on this occasion we are leaving the case in its unpolished original condition as people are preferring this. It's got the original clover omega crown and a new glass! for the Inside, we have an unusual calendar system and Omega's automatic caliber 355 fully serviced by us and running strongly. We've paired the watch on a tan ostrich grain leather, stitch strap but it looks good on anything.

Extra Points
Founded by Louis Brandt in 1848, Omega started out as La Generale Watch Co., an unassuming, but international business. It wasn't until 1885, when the company had been taken over by Louis' sons, that the first mass-produced caliber, the Labrador, was released. By 1903, the company had renamed itself Omega and only two years later were they the official timekeepers at many sporting events across Switzerland. Omega stepped onto an international stage in 1932 as the official timekeepers at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the first of over 20 Olympic Games. Omega were one of the 12 companies, now known as the Dirty Dozen, commissioned to produce watches for the British Military during the Second World War. One of Omega's most iconic watches, the Seamaster, was introduced in 1948 to celebrate their 100th anniversary. Over 70 years later, it is still one of Omega's best selling watches. Omega made headlines in 1962 when Wally Schirra wore the Speedmaster as part of NASA's first crewed spaceflight programme, making the Speedmaster the first watch to enter space. It was only a few years before the Speedmaster became the official chronograph for the American space missions and was worn by Buzz Aldrin as well as the Apollo 13 crew. Omega are still involved with NASA and have been instrumental in creating vital pieces of equipment for space exploration. Omega's reputation continued to soar in the 1990s with Omega Seamaster worn by Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. As well as post-1995 James Bonds, Omega has been worn by the likes of Elvis Presley, John F. Kennedy, Prince William, Rory McIlroy, Ringo Starr, Michael Phelps, Cindy Crawford and George Clooney.
This watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover.
What we think
It is getting harder and harder to find good vintage calendar Seamasters nowadays so we are very excited about this watch.
This is a remarkable example of mid-century horology that prioritizes soul over clinical perfection. While the Reference 2757 (and its predecessor, the 2627) is immortalized in Omega history as part of the first-ever family of automatic watches to feature a date window, this specific piece carries a visual history that cannot be replicated.
The heavy, warm patina on the dial is what we call "honest aging"—a result of decades of light and atmosphere interacting with the original lacquer. We recognize that this level of "tropical" character isn't for everyone; some prefer a pristine, restored look. However, for the collector who values total originality, this dial is a trophy. It is a one-of-one organic canvas that proves the watch has never been tampered with or "redialed." To own this Seamaster is to own a genuine artifact from Omega’s golden era, complete with its original faceted indices and the iconic "date at 6" symmetry that redefined the modern tool watch.
